This Framed Art Card Print features the artwork of Inuit graphic artist Saimaiyu Akesuk who is known for her bright and colourful depiction of arctic wildlife and spirits that dwell along the ice filled seashores of her home in Kinngait, Canada. This print is already framed and includes an artist biography and hanging attachments on the back, making it ideal for gifting.
Spirit Guides was first created by Akesuk as an original stone cut and stencil print in 2002 as part of the Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection; released by the renowned Kinngait Studios located on Qikiqtaaluk (Baffin Island), in Nunavut, Canada.
Kinngait Studios is owned and operated by the West Baffin Eskimo Cooperative; a community run cultural organisation which has been supporting the development of its established and emerging artistic members since 1959; many of whom hold national and international acclaim.
